Office Electrical Installations & Fit-Outs
Desks that need power where people actually sit, lighting that is comfortable all day, and data cabling and patch panels installed ready for your IT team.
An office lives or dies by its layout, and the electrics decide how flexible that layout can be. Whether it is an office fit-out for a new suite, an office refurbishment of a tired floor, or squeezing in more desks, Adtec Electrical can plan and install the power and lighting so the space works on day one and can change later without starting again.
Small power
"Small power" is the trade term for the everyday sockets and spurs that run computers, monitors, printers, kitchens and chargers. In an office the questions are where it comes from and how it reaches each desk. The options are floor boxes under a raised floor, perimeter trunking around the walls, power poles dropped from the ceiling, or desk-mounted modules fed through cable management. We look at your floor, ceiling and furniture plan and suggest what will be neatest and easiest to rearrange.
We also think about circuits. Banks of computers and chargers draw small but constant loads, and kitchens with boiling-water taps and dishwashers need their own supplies. Splitting circuits sensibly means one fault does not take out a whole team.

Lighting and controls
Plenty of offices still run old fluorescent tubes that flicker, hum and cost more to run than they should. Replacing them with LED panels is one of the most common office jobs we do. Done properly it is more than a like-for-like swap. We look at the light levels for the work going on, glare on screens, and whether meeting rooms and corridors need lights on all day.
Controls make a real difference: presence detection in toilets and stores, absence detection in meeting rooms, and daylight dimming near windows. We fit and set these up so they help rather than plunge someone into darkness at their desk. Emergency lighting along escape routes is part of the same conversation.
Data cabling and patch panels
We carry out all the data cabling and patch panels, together with the containment it runs through: trunking compartments, floor box data plates, cable basket above ceilings and conduit drops, plus dedicated power for comms cabinets. The IT equipment itself is then installed by a dedicated IT team, which we can subcontract if you need us to. Planning power and data together from the start keeps them properly separated and saves time for everyone.
Office fit-out and office refurbishment
On a refurbishment we start by surveying what is already there: the age and condition of the distribution board, how circuits are labelled, and whether existing wiring can be reused. Sometimes most of it can stay. Sometimes the board or wiring is the reason the refurbishment is happening. We will tell you which, and why.
Working around your staff
If people are working while we are on site, we plan isolations so power to an area goes off at an agreed time and comes back promptly. Disruptive work can be bunched together. If you would like the noisiest parts done out of hours, mention it when you ask for a quote. It is a question we can discuss, depending on the job and the programme, but not something we promise by default.
Handover
When the installation is complete we test it and issue the certificate, with circuit schedules updated so your board is labelled correctly. For the building's longer-term upkeep, see periodic testing for commercial premises. If the office is part of a wider build or extension, our builders and developers page explains how we fit into a main contractor's programme.
